MEET ESTEVAN
Founder of Uno Somos Films + Host of Screen Sessions
Estevan Valdes is a filmmaker, director, and creative entrepreneur fascinated by the stories we tell, the people who tell them, and why some of them stay with us long after the screen goes dark.
As the founder of Uno Somos Films and creator and host of Screen Sessions, Estevan moves between making stories and exploring how they’re made. His work spans narrative film, documentary, commercial production, and branded storytelling, with a perspective shaped by his Colombian and Cuban roots and a career spent learning nearly every side of the filmmaking process.
He makes stories. He talks about stories. He occasionally overthinks stories.
And he wouldn’t have it any other way.
The
Work
Uno Somos Films
Uno Somos Films is the production company founded by Estevan Valdes and built around a simple belief: The world gets more interesting when more people get to tell the story.
Through film, television, branded storytelling, and original projects, Uno Somos develops and produces work rooted in strong characters, distinct perspectives, and the kind of storytelling that makes audiences feel something.
The name itself means “We Are One.”
And that philosophy sits at the heart of the work: different backgrounds, different experiences, different voices, brought together through the universal language of story.
Screen Sessions
Screen Sessions is Estevan’s love letter to filmmaking.
Part interview series. Part film school. Part behind-the-scenes rabbit hole. It’s a place for conversations with directors, actors, producers, writers, animators, cinematographers, designers, and the countless creative minds responsible for the stories we love.
But these aren’t press-junket conversations. Estevan wants to know about the decision nobody noticed. The scene that almost didn’t happen. The creative problem that kept someone awake at night. The career detour that changed everything.
And yes, occasionally, the piece of completely unnecessary movie trivia he has somehow stored in his brain for twenty years.
